Marvin Weinstein, CPA

President

Marvin Weinstein has been an owner in Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. since its inception in 2015. He was the senior partner in the predecessor firm of Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. which was founded in 1975. Marvin graduated from Queens College in 1955 and received his CPA certificate in 1962.
He is a member of the AICPA and the NYS Society of CPAs. He lives in East Meadow and has three children, one of which is an officer of the firm, and five grandchildren. He has over 50 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation.
Marvin's unique approach to his accounting practice is in the way he treats all his clients as family. He does not simply prepare tax returns for clients. He discusses tax planning, estate planning, investment options and retirement planning. For his business clients he has extensive knowledge for the use of various pension plans currently available. He is always available to answer any client questions and can often be found tethered to his office telephone.

Rick Weinstein, CPA

Vice President

Richard Weinstein is an officer in the firm of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C., as he was in the predecessor firm of Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. He graduated from SUNY-Binghamton in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He continued his studies at Adelphi University while earning a Master of Arts in Psychology in 1988, and then an MBA in Accounting in 1992. He received his CPA certificate in 1995, and is a member of the NYS Society of CPAs.

Richard resides in Woodbury, New York. He has three teenage children, and is very involved in all aspects of their busy lives. His two daughters, Alexa and Nicole, show a love of dance and gymnastics respectively, and his son Zack has followed his father's lifetime love of playing hockey. Richard serves as one of the coaches on his son's team.
Richard enjoys interacting with his various clients in a broad array of fields, and particularly relishes the fast-paced world of tax season. He takes a hands-on approach while focusing on tax planning for all of his personal and business clients. He has developed an expertise in handling various small businesses in many diverse fields such as construction and apparel, and dealing with the challenges they face in a competitive martketplace.

Anthony Raffio, CPA

Secretary/Treasurer

Tony Raffio has been an owner of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. since 2021 after being a member of the firm from its inception in 2015. Previously, he was a member of the predecessor firm of Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C.

With over 20 years of experience across a wide array of industries, Tony has extensive expertise providing small business and individual clients with the various services they require including tax preparation and planning as well as compilations and reviews of GAAP financial statements. He has been successful in building and maintaining close relationships with his clients by demonstrating a vested interest in their business, allowing him to provide services beyond the scope of the traditional CPA and function as a trusted business advisor.

A certified public accountant in New York, Tony is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Hofstra University. Tony is a lifelong resident of Wantagh, New York and currently resides there with his wife and two young children. While away from the office, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, traveling, and playing sports with both his son and daughter.
