Veronica Luball

Staff Accountant

Veronica graduated from Queens College with a B.S. Degree in Accounting. She has been an employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm since 1980. Her responsibilities include analysis of trial balances submitted by clients, preparation of business tax returns and personal income tax returns. She is married and has three children and two grandchildren. She enjoys cooking and does extremely well with her Hungarian recipes.

Elaine M. Mastando

Staff Accountant

Elaine has been an employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. for 31 years, where she has worked for all the principals. She provides complete accounting services for many clients from write-up through tax preparation and financial statement preparation. She has handled all types of taxing authority audits. Elaine graduated from Queens College with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting in 1981 and is a member of the NYSSCPA. Elaine resides in Bayside. She has volunteered to work golf outings for the Cooley's Anemia Foundation.

Ann Lo Piccolo

Bookkeeper

Ann has been an employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. since the year 2001. A bookkeeper for the firm, Ann's specialties include various computer accounting programs along with reconciling corporation's bank statements, quarterly payroll and financial reports. She enjoys cooking authentic Italian meals along with traveling with her husband and three grown children.

Alan D. Smith

Accounting Consultant

Alan graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Accounting in 1974, and was licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant by the State of Maryland in 1976. He joined Weinstein and Wohlafka CPAs P.C. in 2015, after 22 years as a CFO for a private trucking company. His wife Pamela is a school teacher, and they have two children, who are both attorneys.

Barbara Sorbi

Data Entry

Barbara has been a long-time employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. Employed here since 1989, Barbara's responsibilities include fast and accurate data entry along with various administrative tasks. A proud mother to daughter Kirsten, Barbara serves as a Troop Leader of the Girl Scouts and prides herself on teaching her team of young girls to be responsible, productive members of society.

Walter Wohlafka, CPA

Accounting Consultant

Walter Wohlafka has been a member of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. since its inception in 2015. A previous owner of the firm, he was also a Partner of the predecessor firm of Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. since 1985. He graduated from Nassau Community College in 1973 with an Associate of Science Degree in Accounting. Walter continued his accounting education at Hofstra University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting in 1975. He obtained his CPA certificate in New York in 1982. Walter is a member of the NYS Society of CPAs, the AICPA, and the CW Post Tax Institute. Walter is semi-retired and lives in Silver Springs, Maryland, with his wife May, and has two married daughters. One daughter teaches music in Virginia, and the other is a professor of mathematics in South Carolina. He enjoys traveling and sports. The experience that Walter has acquired during his career enables him to provide a complete range of tax and accounting services that small businesses need today. He provides these services while maintaining an overall focus on tax planning, as well as a hands-on personalized approach. Walter has significant expertise in many industries including construction and real estate.
