Our Accountants and Support Staff
As a current Business Management Major at Molloy College and an active member of Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society, Nicole is working towards becoming the most productive and diligent employee that her potential allows while at Weinstein and Wohlafka CPA's P.C. She feels that everyone she has encountered has treated her with the utmost kindness and respect, with the office's unique family-like organizational culture. When she's not working or going to school, she enjoy traveling, spending time with family, hiking and cooking. Her experience here has not only fostered helpful habits in the workplace, but has prepared her for her future ahead.
David graduated Hofstra University in 1976 with a B.A. degree, majoring in Accounting. He has experience in tax preparation, auditing and has had extensive experience in negotiations with government agencies to reduce, or settle outstanding debts owed by taxpayers. David resides in Long Beach with his wife, and is an active participant with the Long Beach Polar Bears, who raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Karalyn has been an employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. since the year 2000. An administrative assistant to Mr. Wohlafka, Karalyn enjoys spending time with her husband, two young sons and two dogs. A resident of Suffolk County, Karalyn endures a long commute to our office but finds her position to be very rewarding.
Office Manager/Administrative Assistant
Judy has been a long-time employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. Employed here since 1988, she is a graduate of Brooklyn College and acts as both Mr. Weinstein's administrative assistant and office manager. A proud grandmother of two, Judy prides herself on her work and ensures the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
Veronica graduated from Queens College with a B.S. Degree in Accounting. She has been an employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm since 1980. Her responsibilities include analysis of trial balances submitted by clients, preparation of business tax returns and personal income tax returns. She is married and has three children and two grandchildren. She enjoys cooking and does extremely well with her Hungarian recipes.
Elaine M. Mastando
Elaine has been an employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. for 31 years, where she has worked for all the principals. She provides complete accounting services for many clients from write-up through tax preparation and financial statement preparation. She has handled all types of taxing authority audits. Elaine graduated from Queens College with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting in 1981 and is a member of the NYSSCPA. Elaine resides in Bayside. She has volunteered to work golf outings for the Cooley's Anemia Foundation.
Donna Palmer, CPA
Senior Staff Accountant
Donna graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dowling College in 1986 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting. She was licensed to practice as a CPA by the State of New York in 1988, and has been a member of the NYS Society of CPAs since that time. Prior to joining the staff of Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. in 1985, she was Controller for California Petroleum Inc., while working towards her accounting degree in the evenings. Donna resides in the Village of Port Jefferson with her husband Dennis, and their two rescue dogs, Bear and Dillion. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, golf, the gym and The Game of Thrones.
Ann Lo Piccolo
Ann has been an employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. since the year 2001. A bookkeeper for the firm, Ann's specialties include various computer accounting programs along with reconciling corporation's bank statements, quarterly payroll and financial reports. She enjoys cooking authentic Italian meals along with traveling with her husband and three grown children.
Tony has been a member of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. since 2011. He attended Hofstra University where he played on the baseball team and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting in 2003. He is currently in the process of obtaining his CPA license. Tony continues to gain valuable experience and knowledge while providing small business clients a variety of tax and accounting services in several industries. He enjoys building relationships with these clients and is always available to assist them with their needs. Tony resides in Wantagh, New York with his beautiful wife Julie and their son, Richard. He enjoys playing softball, boating and woodworking as well as spending time with his family including his two sisters, three nieces and one nephew.
Alan D. Smith
Alan graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Accounting in 1974, and was licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant by the State of Maryland in 1976. He joined Weinstein and Wohlafka CPAs P.C. in 2015, after 22 years as a CFO for a private trucking company. His wife Pamela is a school teacher, and they have two children, who are both attorneys.
Barbara has been a long-time employee of Weinstein & Wohlafka CPAs, P.C. and its predecessor firm Schooler, Weinstein, Minsky & Lester, P.C. Employed here since 1989, Barbara's responsibilities include fast and accurate data entry along with various administrative tasks. A proud mother to daughter Kirsten, Barbara serves as a Troop Leader of the Girl Scouts and prides herself on teaching her team of young girls to be responsible, productive members of society.
